Activity Checks

Activity Checks help determine who's active and who isn't. THose who don't respond to the check are emailed and then given a second chance to respond. If they still do not respond to the check, they're deleted along with their bios and old posts. So stay active and look out for Activity Checks which happen every other month unless the site is slowing down and becoming inactive altogether.

Declined is this area. If your bio happens to be here it is declined and it could be for many reasons. A few is if the length is to short, you can't read it because of spelling and grammar, or if you used the wrong form. Don't get mad if your bio is found here, we just want you to fix it.

Relationships

Make friends, get some love, whatever. This is the great place to make plots with other people and to find out who's your friend and who's totally not.

00
The Academy
[ ]
Main Office

The main office is where the Principle and Dean's offices are. If you are sent here it could be because you're in trouble, you're a new student, or if you're some teacher's pet kid who's meeting the principle. All in all, don't come here unless you're a new student.

00
[ ]
Counseling Office

Got problems that need to be sorted out? Personal, dorm-wise, school-wsie, whatever, set up an appointment here to talk to one of the nice (too nice) counselors here. Although not many people enjoy the bright walls and overly happiness that comes from both the counselors and rooms. It's either this or therapy at one of the expensive therapy buildings downtown.

00
[ ]
Cafeteria

This is where you eat. Simple and easy. The food here isn't all that great, but it can be, depending on the main course. If you are a Junior or above, you can go off campus to eat, but Freshmen and Sophomores must stay in the building.

00
[ ]
Library

Every school has a library, and this one is both large and resourceful with computers to research on and plenty of books and supplies. Two floors. Library cards are cheap, too.

00
[ ]
Auditorium

Usually used for indoor games (ie; basketball, volleyball, etc), the auditorium is the key center for dances that happen a few times during the school year.

00
[ ]
Stage

Every school has Plays, right? Than why shouldn't NYA have one? Plays happen three times over the course of the year and they're all different. Some are musicals, some romantic, some the same as the Broadway musicals that play downtown, it's all here. Come watch the show, buy tickets, or even join! They have rehearsals almost everyday, but if it isn't for you, there is backup crew.

00
[ ]
Fields

The fields are primarily for those who do gym/P.E. and for outdoor games (ie; soccer, football, lacrosse, etc). There is a football, baseball, and soccer field with bleachers for the people who come an watch.

00
[ ]
Science

All the science classrooms are on one entire level, grouped around each other. Each grade level has a different class, and because the large quantity of students, there is more than one classroom for each grade and more than one teacher.
The main science courses are;
Biology
Physics
Chemistry

00
[ ]
English

All the English classrooms are on one entire level, grouped around each other. Each grade level has a different class, and because the large quantity of students, there is more than one classroom for each grade and more than one teacher.
The courses for English are really all the same. Each class teaches reading and writing techniques that get harder as you go up a grade. Sometimes projects are assigned and you have to read and write a lot.

00
[ ]
Math

All the math classrooms are on one entire level, grouped around each other. Each grade level has a different class, and because the large quantity of students, there is more than one classroom for each grade and more than one teacher.
A few of the math courses ('cause there are many) are;
Algebra 1
Algebra 2
Calculas
Trig.

00
[ ]
Humanities

All the humanities (social studies) classrooms are on one entire level, grouped around each other. Each grade level has a different class, and because the large quantity of students, there is more than one classroom for each grade and more than one teacher.

American History 1
European History
Civil War 1
World Wars 1 & 2
Civics

00

Dorm Lounge

On the second floor in the eastern wing of the building is the Dorm Lounge. The lighting there is very dim and realxing and their are plenty of chairs and couches to sit on. In the middle back is a small fireplace with a fire always going and plenty of wood to burn nearby. A few bookshelves and desks are in it too, for studying and relaxing purposes. Beverages and food is allowed in it, but if you make a mess, you're expected to clean it up.

00
[ ]
Dorm Office

The dorm office is where you get your key and information on your dorm if you haven't already received it. Problems about roommates and neighbors are usually dealt with here unless taken care of at the main office at the academy. Decisions on who goes in what dorm and with who is also decided here.

00
[ ]
Dorm Cafe

On the first floor, across from the main office is the cafe, which is much like those cafeteria in hospitals. There, the chefs serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner and even drinks and snacks. Of course, every dorm has a kitchen, so you could always purchase food from the drugstore down the street instead of going to the cafe every day. But many say the cafe is quicker for when your in a hurry.
Food ranges in all kinds from steak to pancakes, and drinks go from milk to juice to soda and energy drinks. Snacks are your usual goldfish, PB crackers and more. Don't forget dessert, either.

00
Off Campus
[ ]
Williams Electronik Store

Other than the fact that whoever owns this place spelled 'electronic' wrong, whether on purpose or not we may never know, this place is the center for all, well, electronic things. From game players to video games, from iPods to movies, it's all here! At this fairly large store with the old and new stuff. Need a new Zune, go to Williams. Need that new Spyro video game for PS3? Go to Williams, it'll be there.

00
[ ]
New York Shopping Mall

New York Shopping Mall may be the tackiest name for a mall that anyone's ever come across, but it is the best mall in the U.S. Filled with every store imaginable, even ones that aren't in other state, this place is heaven for shopaholics. It's huge, too. I mean, it wouldn't take an entire day to go to every single day, it would take more!

00
[ ]
Starbucks

You've got to have a Starbucks nearby if you want to live. But this one is rather large with comfy armchairs and those bean cushions. Pale yellow walls and green trim complete the look and give this place a very cozy feel to it.

PB Locos

PB Locos is known for many things; it's interesting choices for PB sandwiches, and its creative and funky design on the inside. All you can eat here is really PB sandwiches with jelly, bacon, or anything else you want on it. The flavors of peanut butter range from the grossest-sounding titles to the most-appetizing ones. Delicious, comfy, and cool, this place is a great hang out for NYA students.

00
[ ]
New York Zoo

New York Zoo is pretty popular, making it rather busy during the day but completely empty at night. Only the bravest of vampires dare to feed on the animals there and only a few live to tell the tale. Guards there are pretty strict and can also have the blood pf a vampire in them. Workers are committed and the place is clean and well-set up. A lot of NYA students hang here after classes, usually in the gift shop or in one of the small restaurants here.

00
[ ]
Subway Train

New York is known for its classical 'train underground'. I mean, who seriously wants to drive in the heavy traffic on the streets? Subways are quicker, although they are rather dirty and the stations are shelter to homeless people and it sometimes smells. Make sure you have your Subway card with you so you can get in, although many young teens just sneak in. It's not cool when you get caught, though.

00
[ ]
PeeWee Club

PeeWee Club, with its odd name, is rather popular, and big. Named after the owner's son, it contains every genre of music you could ever want from Hip Hop to Techno, from Rock to that lame Jazz crap. It can get crowded sometimes, however, and booze is rather expensive. During the day, the club turns into one of those Poetry Cafes with coffee, snacks, and people reciting poems they made up. Don't clap, just snap.

00
[ ]
Manhattan Bookstore

Once a library in the late 1800s but later changed due to populations, Manhattan Bookstore is the largest bookstore you will ever come across here. Five stories high and god knows how many feet wide, this place contains every book you could imagine, pretty much. Each level is a different age group, like third is teens, second is kids under 12, and so on. Sub categories are on each floor too; fantasy, nonfiction, etc. Because of the large quantity of books, every fall there is a book fair where the books they set out are absolutely free. You just take and go. As long as its on one of the tables out front.

Manhattan Local Park

This park is large, grassy, and pretty. Thick, old trees grow thickly around here and park benches are scattered about. A small playground is in the heart of the park along with a small stream and waterfall; man made. Popular at night with vampires and the wildlife there, and during the day, NYA students litter the grassy land. And it's across from the bookstore, too.

00
[ ]
Broadway Ice Cream Shop

A quiet, peaceful ice cream shop only a few blocks away from the academy. Ice cream, smoothies, and shakes of all flavors are here and you can choose to put protein powder in it or not.

00
[ ]
Beeline Drugstore

Beeline Drugstore is like your local drugstore. It's small, but still large enough to hold food, drinks, and the necessities to live everyday. It's also a gas station.

Rockefeller Center

People know that 'oh-so-special' show, Good Morning America, right? Well this happens to be where it's held. When it's not in session, however, it becomes a hang out area for most people and a place where tourists visit.

00
[ ]
H&M

Ever wanted to shop at a store that's all over New York but hardly anywhere else all over the world? Then H&M fits your needs. Fashionable, somewhat expensive, this store has everything from shirts to underwear to even hair accessories! And don't worry, there are changing rooms.

00

Snooze

A very nice restaurant in downtown New York where it can be quite busy sometimes. Bright colors, funky breakfast food that is simply amazing, and great waiters/waitresses, this is where you should spend breakfast everyday! Unfortunately, they no longer take reservations.
